The purpose of the hot melt adhesive for the mattress layers is to glue all the inner layers of the mattress as tightly as possible. The difficulty is that there are a so many different types of layer materials and hot melt glue must have good adhesion to all of these materials (fibertex, coira, foam rubber, latex, nonwovens batting, cotton, linen, felt).
We have selected hot melt adhesives in order to reliably bond all these materials.
Hot melt adhesives for mattresses fall into two categories — PSA adhesives and Semi-PSA adhesives.
Semi-PSA hot melt adhesives are mostly polyolefin based adhesives that, after cooling, form a highly cohesive adhesive layer. After cooling of such a hot melt adhesive, the mattress components cannot be peeled off and re-glued by hand.
PSA hot melt adhesive with is a synthetic rubber-based adhesive that remains sticky even after cooling and the components of the mattress can be re-glued by hand.
When choosing an adhesive, we also take into account the requirements for the presence / absence of odor.
